About Jungle

The Jungle started off as a computer bulletin board in 1988 on a MacPlus connected to a 2400 BAUD modem. Kenroy Harrison started the Jungle as a way for other desktop publishers to exchange ideas, files and information. I (Chris Lawson) now operate The Jungle as an internet presence provider and as part of a freelance web design and development business. The old bulletin board shut down in December 2003.

But Kenroy eventually grew tired of running the board and living in Canada so he moved to Japan. Jack Hicks took over the board from Kenroy in 1993. But then Jack got a better job up in Iqaluit so he moved. I took over the board from Jack in June 1994.

I ran the Jungle up until December 2003. When I shut it down, it had a handful of users who used it exclusively for internet email. The online community was long dead. For all kinds of reasons it made no sense to keep the board running.

I gave the equipment and the software licenses to Albert Cardarelli, one of the Jungle's remaining users and for a time he ran it as oldjungle.ca, but beset by technical difficulties and a lack of users, he turned his attention elsewhere.

I've kept the domain name because it's the name of the company that I do business under and to honour the history of the bulletin board.

Flower one - purely decorative Flower two - more eye candy Sigh. Flower three. Nothing to do here folks All these PNGs sure are good to have, eh? Now that MSIE might soon understand them
How much eye candy can one page endure
